Three Things Kansas City Drivers Can Check on Their Car Today
But just because we have a comprehensive list of services doesn't mean you shouldn't be aware of some ways to keep your vehicle working properly. Here are three simple things that you can check on your car today that may improve performance and help you avoid future problems.
1. Windshield Wipers
Old windshield wipers can quickly escalate the level of danger that is associated with driving in a rainstorm. As a car owner, you should probably replace your wipers every six to twelve months, depending on where you live. If you're looking for any signs of wipers that need to be replaced, listen for skipping, streaking, or squeaking sounds. You can also look at them for corrosion, damage, or signs of wear and tear. If it's time for a new pair, you should be able to replace them yourself in a matter of minutes.
2. Tire Pressure
An important tool in anyone's glovebox is a tire gauge. The DMV recommends that you should check your tire pressure at least every other week. (A great time to do this would be when you fill up your car with gas.) To find out what pressure your tires should be, look in your owner's manual. If more air is needed, you should be able to find an air compressor at a local gas station that just costs a few cents to use.
3. Lights
Take a minute or two to check your headlights, brake lights, and turn signals with the help of a friend or family member. If you notice a problem bulb, you can find the right replacement at a local auto parts store and make the change in 15 minutes or so. Or you can swing by Christian Brothers Automotive in Kansas City and have us take care of the replacement for you.
What are you waiting for? Get off your computer and go check these items on your vehicle now! Knowing that your tires, wipers, and lights are working can go a long way to helping you feel better about driving in Kansas City.
