Spring-Cleaning Tips Designed for Your Car | Christian Brothers Automotive, East Wichita
While it may feel like winter is still in full swing, the first day of spring will be here before we know it! As the days get longer and the temperatures get (slightly) warmer, you are likely feeling a rush of energy and determination for getting things in order—which is why now is a natural time for spring-cleaning.
This year, spring-cleaning your house may not be enough, so we recommend giving your ride a good scrubbing, too. Below, we have all the tips you need for clearing out your car—and if it is time for a seasonal tune-up, our technicians can help with that, too!
Tips for Spring-Cleaning Your Car
1. Vacuum and clean upholstery. The carpet in your car can harbor some serious debris, and we all know how many crumbs can find their way into the seams of the seats! Start by giving your car a good vacuum to get rid of any dirt, pet hair or leftover snacks, and use a carpet cleaning vacuum to shampoo the interior carpeting.
2. Organize compartments. Many of us are in and out of our cars each day, leaving behind clutter and trash that has not yet been dealt with. Now is a great time to clear out your middle console, dashboard and any other compartments your vehicle has to take care of receipts, ketchup packets and whatever else has been lingering around.
3. Wash your windows. Washing your windows is not just for getting a brighter perspective—after winter driving, it is wise to give them some attention to remove any buildup that has accumulated due to salt, sleet and other conditions.
4. Replace your windshield wipers. Windshield wipers wear down with time, and if you are not sure when you replaced yours last, spring-cleaning is a great time to do so. Especially with spring rain on the way, you will want to make sure you can see the road clearly even in unfavorable driving conditions.
