Owners:
Derek & Tamara Phillips
Derek and Tamara are true Friendswoodians! They grew up in Friendswood,
are products of Friendswood schools and are high school sweethearts. Derek
is a graduate of Sam Houston State University. Tamara is a graduate of
Texas A&M University. Married while still in college, they served
seven years on staff with Young Life Ministries, most recently in Cypress,
Texas. In 2009, the Phillips welcomed their first born, Jack Carter, into
the world and a desire grew to return to their hometown roots to raise
their family. In 2012, they returned to Friendswood and daughter Julia
Kate was born the next year. Derek subsequently took a position at Christian
Brothers Automotive corporate office as a Franchise Trainer. While training
new franchise owners on running an ethical automotive business the dream
of becoming a business owner began to materialize. In 2014, the opportunity
to purchase a Christian Brothers Automotive became a reality and the Phillips
family is thrilled to serve their hometown community as new owners of
the Friendswood shop.

Inspections, Testing and Diagnostics are Our Specialties
We have the latest dealer-level diagnostic tools and equipment, OEM software
updated daily, and continuous manufacturer-specific training. Some repair
shops or parts stores just “read the code” and then hope that
it will fix the problem. Our experience has shown us that over half of
the time that the code obtained from the computer is only a symptom, and
that the real problem lies somewhere else.

We repair vehicles of all years (both “1995 and older” and
“1996 and newer”). We can complete the drive cycle and re-inspection
for you before we say “it’s done!”
Our Brake Service Will Have You Stopping Smoothly and Quietly
We always begin with a free brake inspection and give you actual measurements
on wear, not just an arbitrary percentage worn. We machine your rotors
or drums, if they are above manufacturers limits, lubricate all necessary
hardware, and only use the best quality of brake pad.
Manufacturer Recommended Maintenance to Keep Your Vehicle Warranty in Force
We have the same equipment, fluids, chemicals and trained technicians as
most of the dealerships use. We can perform the 30,000, 60,000, and 90,000
mile services required under your warranty. However, we can also perform
most extended warranty repairs, and you pay only your deductible. These
services are not only important during your warranty, but also extend
the life of your vehicle after the warranty has expired. After all, if
they weren’t important they wouldn’t be a requirement of the
warranty.

We service and repair all components in your engine’s cooling system.
From radiator flushes to radiator replacement, water pumps, thermostats
and heater cores, we service it all. If your car begins to run hot, pull
over right away and give us a call. Driving a car for even a few miles
while overheated can cause thousands of dollars in damage.
Keeping You Cool with Air Conditioning Service and Repair
When your car will not keep you cool and you do not know exactly why when
you first arrive. That is why we begin by recharging your A/C and then
performing a leak test to see where the freon is being lost. We have extensive
experience in replacing compressors, evaporator cores, condensers, orifice
tubes, expansion valves, hoses and lines.
Engine Repairs and Maintenance by a Experienced Technicians
Our technicians have over 30 years personal experience and are trained,
tested and certified technicians to give you the reassurance that your
diagnosis and repair were done right.
Transmission Services
We have the computers and equipment to diagnose your transmission problem.
We repair transmissions for servo, electronic and electrical component
faults. We also service clutches, flywheels, hydraulic clutch linkage,
and, if need be, we can perform transmission rebuilds.
