Everything You Need To Know About Tire Rotation At Our Car Shop

We want you to get the most out of your tires. That’s why today, we’re going to give you a clear answer!

Here are answers to the four most frequently asked tire rotation questions.

1. Why do my tires need to be rotated?

When you neglect tire maintenance services, especially tire rotations, it can cause your tires to wear faster. Tires are a big investment and are designed to last a long time. However, rough driving habits and regularly driving over rough terrain can put a strain on your vehicle. Tire rotations prevent uneven wear and ultimately prolong the life of your investment.

2. How often should my tires be rotated?

Our ASE-certified technicians suggest a tire rotation at least every 5,000 – 7,500 miles (or with every-other oil change). You can’t over-rotate your tires! Vehicles with all-wheel drive (AWD) especially need regular tire rotations. The AWD systems must have matching tires to avoid damage to the drive system.

3. Does your Grand Rapids auto repair shop rotate tires?

We certainly do! Our knowledgeable technicians have the tools necessary to take care of all aspects of tire maintenance. This includes:

  • Tire rotations
  • Tire air pressure checks
  • Wheel alignment
  • Suspension maintenance

When your vehicle is brought into our Grand Rapids auto repair shop for any reason, we’ll offer a free courtesy inspection. This inspection will help us determine the correct intervals for maintenance services on your vehicle. We won’t recommend a tire rotation if your tires need to be replaced, and we won’t let you drive away on unsafe wheels!

4. How long should my tires last?

While the exact mileage varies depending on driving habits and maintenance, tires are built to last. If your tires are taken care of, they can last as long as 60,000 miles. Without regular tire rotations, this number significantly decreases.

Keeping your tires properly rotated and maintaining proper tire air pressure protects the tires, prolongs their life and even increases your gas mileage.

Don’t throw away good money just because tire rotation doesn’t seem like a high priority. To keep your tires in great shape, schedule a tire rotation today. Call Christian Brothers Automotive in Grand Rapids, Michigan to see the nice difference!
