Celebrating National Service Day 2019
What is National Service Day?
National Service Day (NSD) is a day in October where our entire Christian Brothers Automotive family dedicates to making an impact in each of the communities we serve through service.
How National Service Day Got Started:
In October 2005, one of our franchisees out of Austin, TX decided to mark their servant leadership with a day of service, and National Service Day was born. What originally began in Austin as a day to give free oil changes to single mothers and other community members in need, quickly grew to a company-wide service event by 2010.
Reaching a Historical Milestone:
In 2018, we reached a historic milestone with 100% store participation. In honor of this achievement, we went Live on Facebook, and asked our social media followers to nominate someone in need of a car.
If you missed the excitement last year and have 2 minutes to spare, we encourage you to watch the story about the person that was nominated to receive a new car.
How You Can Partner with Christian Brothers Automotive for National Service Day 2019:
Today, there are two different paths our stores take when participating in NSD. NSD Classic follows our traditional formula: providing oil changes to people in need. Our stores team up up with an organization (ex. church, women's shelter, etc) who help connect us to people in need. Then there's NSD custom which is for stores that have big ideas on how to impact their community. Custom ideas generally serve a group of people and fulfill a need for that group.
This year, our 9th annual National Service Day will be on October 12th. If you are an organization or church that knows of individuals in need of help, or if you would like to donate supplies or other items, please reach out to our team. Email:[email protected]
Since Christian Brothers Automotive began in 1982, our team has been passionate about our mission to love our neighbor as ourselves. Our National Service Day each October is a day for us to celebrate and do just that. This initiative allows us to take root in our communities, in ways that serve our neighbors best.
