Rockwall Certified Mechanics
What is ASE?
ASE stands for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. More than 300,000 technicians in the automotive industry currently have certifications from ASE.
How do mechanics become certified by ASE?
From working on hybrid cars to auto parts, there are over 40 unique ASE certification tests. Mechanics must pass at least one of these tests and have two years of related on-the-job experience to be certified by the ASE. In order to stay up to date with all industry trends, ASE-Certified mechanics must retake their tests every five years to maintain that status.
What are the tests like?
A group of executives, manufacturers, educators, and technicians in the automotive industry create the tests. Tests consist of multiple choice questions and can usually be completed in under two hours. Two-thirds of the people who take one of these tests pass on the first attempt.
Why is ASE certification important to you?
ASE certification helps mechanics provide a higher standard of service to their customers. ASE certification is something that you can always look for when it is time to have your car repaired.
