Christian Brothers Automotive Shawnee Celebrates Another Successful National Service Day
National Service Day gives back to single moms in Shawnee
This year, our dedicated team of ASE-certified technicians and volunteers was able to complete 29 free oil changes for single moms and widows in the Shawnee area.
In addition to free car service, our Shawnee auto repair shop hosted pumpkin decorating, coloring books, bounce houses and donuts for the kids.
The anointing of the Holy Spirit was overflowing in our shop
During the event, our owner Tammie Green had the privilege of praying over several moms.
One mom, Elicia, was addicted to drugs but turned her life over to Jesus 10 months ago. Despite her struggles, she continues to pray and find hope. After they prayed together, Elicia took off a beaded necklace she had made and gifted it to Tammie.
Another mom, Mandree, has been searching for a job but praises Jesus for providing her every need. During the free oil change event, Mandree prayed a blessing over our Shawnee auto repair shop.
A third mom, Katrina, spoke a blessing over our shop as a ‘thank you’ for helping her and other moms in our area.
Thank you to our wonderful volunteers and sponsors
We could not have completed this year’s National Service Day without help from our wonderful volunteers and sponsors. Thanks to our gracious donors, each vehicle serviced received a Hallmark gift back with donated goodies.
These gift bags included a book written by local poet Kollin Taylor, lipstick with a coupon for a free Mary Kay makeover, a tire pressure gauge, and coupons for Little Monkey Bizness, Papa Murphy’s and Naomi’s Hallmark.
