ASE-Certified Mechanics in Tyler
What is ASE?
ASE stands for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. This is a nonprofit organization that has been testing and certifying technicians in the automotive industry for over 40 years.
How do technicians obtain ASE certification?
ASE offers more than 40 unique certification tests that cover everything from auto maintenance and damage analysis to hybrid cars. In order to receive certification, technicians must get a passing score on one of these tests and complete two years of relevant work experience. Anyone who completes more than one test will be given Master status. ASE also requires that all certified technicians retake their tests every five years to stay current with industry trends.
What are the tests like?
Through having a panel of technicians, executives, manufacturers, and educators in the automotive industry write the exams, the ASE ensures relevance and quality. They consist of multiple choice questions and can usually be completed in under two hours. Two-thirds of the people who take ASE certifications will pass on the first try.
What does ASE certification mean to you?
The knowledge and experience that ASE-Certified professionals have can give you confidence in the quality of service and repairs you are provided. Instead of trusting any auto shop for the repairs and maintenance that your car needs, you can depend on someone you know can handle the work correctly.
