Westfield Certified Mechanics
Christian Brothers employs ASE-Certified mechanics for our Westfield customers. So what is ASE and how should it impact your car maintenance choices? Let’s address some of these questions in today’s blog post.
What is ASE?
ASE stands for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. This is a nonprofit organization that tests and certifies technicians in the automotive industry.
How do mechanics become certified by ASE?
From working on hybrid cars to collision repair, there are over 40 unique ASE certification tests. In order to receive certification, technicians must pass at least one of these tests and complete two years of relevant work experience. ASE requires that all certified technicians retake their tests every five years to stay current with new developments.
What are the tests like?
A panel of manufacturers, educators, working technicians, and executives in the automotive industry create the tests. The tests can usually be completed in one to two hours. Two-thirds of the people who take ASE certifications pass on the first attempt.
Why is ASE certification important to you?
By choosing automotive technicians who are ASE-Certified, you’ll have the privilege of working with professionals who are both knowledgeable and experienced. When you have your car serviced or repaired, make sure to look for this designation.
